As always, we love to highlight the achievements of our BID businesses, which means we were thrilled to hear that a local charity had recently been awarded the highly prestigious Tom Hillier award for providing outstanding service to its customers.
Shopmobility, located in Eden Shopping Centre, is small charity offering free daily hire of scooters or wheelchairs to enable people with limited mobility to get around High Wycombe town 
centre.
The Tom Hillier Award, which celebrates the best in British healthcare, was awarded based on the high volume of customer nominations and Shopmobility’s involvement within the local community – in particular, live radio broadcasts to promote the scheme, regular awareness events and their disability awareness training.
Speaking of the award, manager Claire McMackin said:
‘We are bursting with pride. As a small local charity it is amazing to have National recognition for the service we provide.We have a wonderful team of staff and we have always prided ourselves on the fabulous free service we offer to our customers. To be nominated by our customers and recognised with this National Award is absolutely fantastic.”
