We’re kicking the festival season off in style with the return of FrogFest – our one-day musical extravaganza, which takes place on Sunday 26 May. The all-day event, which begins at 11:30am in the high street, offers visitors the chance to sample great music in a family-friendly atmosphere.
Now fully established and in its sixth year, FrogFest 2019 will once again showcase some of the best musical talent from up and down the country – with live performances from the likes of Sol Samba, Vibes Steel Band, George Jack, My Mate Dave, Casual Madness, Garance LouLou, Sobernauts, Sloth in the City, XCS, MIB, Cara Means Friend, Tiny Tina Turner, Robert J Hunter, Dolly and The Dinosaur, Suzy Condrad, Millie Manders and The Shut Up, Jocee and popular rockabilly foursome, Hawkmen. Local musician Steph Willis will also make a triumphant return having wowed the crowds at last year’s festival. The two high street stages will also be accompanied by live music at The Antelope.
FrogFest, which is one of the town’s most popular events, is organised by HWBIDCo on behalf of local businesses. Melanie Williams, BID manager said “This is an exciting start to Summer in High Wycombe and an opportunity for the business community to invite a large number of people to experience the positive aspects of the Town Centre – our beautiful buildings, authentic and diverse community and lively music scene”
The festival aims to promote High Wycombe as a vibrant and attractive destination and encourage families to visit the town centre. From arts and crafts and bandana-making to face-painting and mini golf – there’s plenty for the kids to do. As well as an exciting musical offering, the event will also include an array of delicious food and drink stalls, as well as performances from renowned street and circus entertainers. Festival-goers will also be treated to a spectacular fire show finale at the end of the evening.
Speaking about this year’s event, HWBIDCo Projects and Events Manager Chloe Lockwood said, ‘We are particularly excited about what is on offer to families this year. From mini-golf and BBQ smokers, to face-painting and cocktails – there really is something for everyone.’
