DesFEST 2024
A fabulous day was had by all this past Saturday as ‘DesFest’ came to Desborough Road as part of the annual town centre events programme ran by HWBIDCo. With the sunshine in full force, the street was lined with activities and stalls from stakeholders located along Desborough Road, including Trybes, Vapour House, Cake Box, Fort Phoenix, Bassey Stores, Tacos&Burgers, Cakehouse Bakery and Ranchers Grill, as well as Cupp, Art-K and Ruby Moon from elsewhere in the town centre.
The Main Stage was a hit with performances including Blend Choir and School of Irish Dance, whilst the Music Stage in Wycombe Arts Centre hosted a full line-up of local musicians. King’s Church added to the fun with their Play & Pray activity centre, and not forgetting the dinosaur walkabouts, bouncy castle, family disco sessions, giant colouring board and creative painting workshops.
The day was enjoyed by hundreds of visitors and was a great opportunity to showcase the range of businesses on Desborough Rd, particularly highlighting many of the restaurants & eateries offering a global smogasbord of flavours!
“Melanie Williams, HWBIDCo CEO adds “Desborough Road has a special place in our hearts, the business community spirit is unparalleled in this location and whilst businesses often feel like they are slightly out of town, to us they are very much in the heart of the town centre plans, with a large number of independent businesses and budding artists together with investment from Kings Church and Wycombe Arts Centre we know that any cultural or creative uplift for the town centre will be ‘sparked’ from here.”
