We love to highlight some of the amazing charity work our BID businesses do, which is why we were exceptionally proud to read that The Laundry Room (Desborough Road) recently welcomed their 350th homeless customer.
The local launderette works alongside Wycombe Homeless Connection to offer free washing services to homeless people within the town centre.
The initiative is the brain child of kindhearted Laundry Room owner, Qumar Aziz. Speaking to The Bucks Free Press back in 2017, Qumar explained his decision to give something back to the local community.
“I had someone outside the shop asking for money. I invited him in and asked if he was okay – he said he needed money to wash his clothes and so I offered to do it for him for free.I wanted to give something back. I have lived in High Wycombe all my life and I have always wanted to do something for the community.”
