A message from our BID manager

Mar 30, 2020Coronavirus, News

As high streets across the UK begin to feel the impact of COVID-19, we wanted to take this opportunity to remind all of our Town Centre businesses that we are working hard to support you – and the wider community – at this very difficult time.

In addition to regularly updating our website and social media pages with the latest government guidance, we’re also working closely with the new Buckinghamshire council and local MPs to bring this support to you and your business as quickly as possible.

Though times are challenging, businesses must learn to adapt and begin to explore creative ways to trade. Many businesses in High Wycombe are already offering extended services to the public in the wake of coronavirus, with others undertaking extraordinary acts of kindness and charity to help the local community and those within it who are most vulnerable. We are proud to be able to highlight and support these efforts – however we can.

Over the last week, we have been overwhelmed by the level of support the local community has shown to some of our town centre businesses. For our part, we are currently working with a number of providers to make it easier for local businesses to trade online during the crisis. This will allow you to continue to ‘love local’ and support your favourite businesses without having to leave home.

This situation is unprecedented, and whilst we have no idea how long the current crisis will last, we must begin to put measures in place to support our high street and help businesses recover once things return to normal.

Lastly, I would like to remind you that we are all in this together. By supporting each other, we can help to keep our business community strong throughout the challenges ahead. If you have a specific query or would like to talk to someone about COVID-19 and its implications for your business, please get in touch with me by email or call 07501 683916
